Holiday Valley Has The Snow

(January 27, 2012, Ellicottville, NY...) With an almost weekly weather cycle between cold and snowy and warm and rainy, the 2012 Western New York winter weather that skiers and riders usually count on has been full of tricks and twists.

But despite what Mother Nature has in mind, Holiday Valley has an amazing amount of snow. To create a thick blanket of durable base snow, Holiday Valley has, more than ever, relied on its substantial snowmaking capacity which covers 95% of the trails.

Windham Mountain Update

As the midpoint of the winter season approaches, Team Snow continues to defy Mother Nature, producing manmade snow that now covers 97% of our mountain. For the weekend, we plan to offer top to bottom skiing and riding for all abilities on 40 trails, 261 skiable acres, 10 lifts and 5 terrain parks. Plattekill - WE GOT SNOW!!

We got SNOW AT PLATTEKILL...and LOTS of it on our open terrain! What Mother Nature hasn't provided (yet), we're making up for with... OPERATION: SNOWMAKING SNOWSTORM!

West Mountain 1/23 Update

Fresh Snow and More Trails! The snow has arrived! Thanks to the blanket of fresh snow and our snowmaking team we’ve been able to open more terrain. Last week we opened the Triple Chair and our Family Fun Ter-rain Park in its new location on the Banister. The Terrain Park features 9 elements consisting of rails and boxes for both begin-ners and more advanced skiers and riders. We currently have 15 trails open including The Mach, Banister, and Alley and all of our lifts are in operation. This Saturday, Jan. 28th marks the an-nual Special Olympics competition and we encourage everyone to come support the athletes as they compete in alpine, nordic, and snowshoe races.
